    ...the United Church of Christ and its congregations need to get out the real answers. Obama needs to stay out of it and focus on the campaign. Besides the UCC is already in trouble for associating a bit too closely with Obama.

      one of her shows, since she is/was a member.  or the politically engaged rapper common.  and i'm sure there are dozens of others who could.

      i agree that obama will stay out of this clarification effort, except when quizzed by the media.

      The Obama campaign can't be too overt.  But at the same time, they can't just rely on the media picking up the appropriate substance and narrative.  I'm no expert, so I don't know how this stuff gets done.  But the CW has to change from:

      "Obama's crazy pastor said these inflammatory comments.  Why is the potential POTUS a member?"

      to "These are not the fineset moments of an otherwise fine pastor who has done many great things.  Obama's church is very much in the mainstream of religious practice."
