  •  I got popped in one like that (4.00)
    after the Rodney King verdict exonerting the police. Reaction in Los Angeles was making the cops in SF very nervous. A big group of us did exactly what they said, got on the sidewalk and out of the street -- so they penned us in and arrested us.

    No charge stuck of course. And eventually several hundred of us each got about $700 from the city for false arrest which was a great help to various struggling progressive organizations.

    Do go through the hassle of getting together with the lawyers and being part of the inevitable class action suit. When they do this, we have to make them pay for it.

    And Gitmo on the Hudson sounds pretty unpleasant -- they seem to like piers for holding crowds these days.

      I was about to ask if such a cause of action can arise in cases like this.
