publicizing this.  These VRWC's really do exist.  Not as a formal organized plan (well, we've not found the organizing paperwork yet), but as an implicit agreement to push Right Wing and Conservative BS in every connection and in every way.  Joe Lieberman and Lynne Cheney working together? Yup. In the words of Gomer Pyle, "Well, serprize, serprize, serprize!"

These attacks on everything from college governance boards to the Methodist Church three mainline American denominations: The United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church USA, and the Episcopal Church. The IRD was created and is sustained by money from right-wing foundations and has spent millions of dollars over 20 years attacking mainline denominations. The IRD's conservative social-policy goals include increasing military spending and foreign interventions, opposing environmental protection efforts, and eliminating social welfare programs.
In a document entitled "Reforming America's Churches Project 2001-2004," the IRD states that its aim is to change the "permanent governing structure" of mainline churches "so they can help renew the wider culture of our nation." In other words, its goal extends beyond the spiritual and includes a political takeover financed by the likes of Richard Mellon Scaife, Adolph Coors, the John M. Olin Foundation, and the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation of Milwaukee.

to ... just about everywhere you turn ... are all a part of the conservative push to take over the nation. They KNOW they are in the vast MINORITY, but they want their ideas to have traction and their phony slogans to have support.

In a world with free speech, free inquiry, strong independent education in liberal arts, they cannot survive.  Cannot.

So, they resort to subterfuge, lies, twisting of reality and board take-overs.

    Fight Back at Dartmouth!

And if you are a long-lost member of the Methodist, Presbyterian or Episcopal Churches, educate yourself on the IRD and Fight Back against them.
