  •  your post secretly holds the real problem (11+ / 0-)

the Right just kept on keeping on until the media lost interest.

We have lost our attention spans for outrage.

So the media stopped posting it because they can't make money selling an idea people don't want to pay for when they don't want to hear it.

That's the American people...(present company excluded, thankfully). The lessson is that they could not be mindf*cked if they aren't bent over and ready for it...and some of them really seem to like it even if they wake up sore as hell afterward...

Solving this problem is the issue of our times - trying to seperate people from what they want and making them open to accepting demonstrable facts and reality.

George Orwell is banging on the lid of his coffin and screaming, "1984 was a cautionary tale, you dolts, not a motivational speech!"

I have a sinking feeling this problem won't get solved without a catastrophe like a depression. By then the damage is done.

To me, the absolute most important issue ANY of us has, and this nation has, is that we are currently being ruled by a gang of immoral war criminals. -Hornito

    •  More the people, or the advertisers? (5+ / 0-)

The real customers of mass media are the advertisers, largely "Big Business".  Even when ordinary people are interested in outrages, the people who provide the profits for the MSM have nearly a stranglehold on what is reported by them, and how.

Of course "Big Business" doesn't want to hear bad things about Republicans.  And much of the public doesn't want to hear about more outrages that they feel helpless to do anything about.
