    I'm on the group who designs the sex-ed curriculum from a parent-standpoint.  It's a 7 year cycle so it has big impact.  I wanted to bring discussion about gayness terminology, STD terminology from a scientific standpoint to the 8th grade from the 11 grade.

    I sure had to campaign for that.  Knocked heads in a polite way, but won my way.

    As for abstinence not working - that's the prob Bob.  The honesty is lost in translation.

      "Ignorance-Only Sex Ed", to point out how absurd it is. Because it isn't even "Abstinence Only" in the sense of saying "100% lifelong celibacy is the only guaranteed protection from any and all consequences of sex" (duh!) - it's saying "We're not going to tell you about any protection options besides 100% lifelong celibacy! Only want 2 kids? Got an STD from your lawfully-wedded spouse? Tough luck, you're screwed!"
