I just wish it wasn't still so HARD to return some of these bottles....  at times we end up with bags full becasue we can't find a place with a bottle machine that works or doesnt already have a long line of people waiting to return their bottles.  If more bottle types are added to the recycle mix it will be even harder to return them.   that problem needs to be addressed.

Was in the bottles return department of a shop rite in NY in 1984, one year after the law and before they had bottles machines for returns.

People in line on a saturday would get really pissed at me because my rule was I had to put all of the prior person's bottles away before I'd start the next person.  Otherwise, I'd be swimming in bottles.

It was a sometimes slimy work, but actually a really fun first job.

After the machines went in, things actually moved much slower than when we had a person taking the returns, but the store didn't care.  They were only doing the least they could to fulfill their legal obligation to accept returns.

I'd also like to see better/expanded collection household toxic chemicals/cleaning agents and batteries.  As it stands in my county, they do only periodic local collection of those items.
