    before he took up torturing law. Tenure is weird in that a prof with tenure can take up stuff that is blatantly wrong  and remain tenured. For example; a geology prof can become a young earther and nothing can be done.  I thought that the 81 page memo on presidential power that has no mention of Youngstown, repudiates habeas corpus, and allows the military to search private property of Americans (blows off the 4th amendment) for sheer incompetence, but no.

    Similarly, I thought that memo might be grounds for disbarment from the Pennsylvania bar. Not so fast.  The OLC is only a quasi judicial body, not full blown.  The definitions of client and attorney matter in this case, and apparently the status of the OLC matters here.

    War crimes. I thought Yoo authorize war crimes.  The Military Commissions Act renders null crimes committed between 9/11/2001 and 12/30/2005. Yoo will only be held guilty for war crimes by judicial bodies outside the U.S.
