Increasing the food supply now only defers a catastrophe humans have shown little interest in avoiding. Any effort to feed more people more equitably without an equal effort to reduce the human population - equitably - will only result in greater long-term damage to the ecosystem and a bigger and harder fall in the future.
I have ceased to look at medical and food aid to over-populated regions of the world as charity. It's only a guilt offering. Giving people the opportunity to live long enough to reproduce at unsustainable levels is the worst form of cruelty. It is mindless. It is multi-generational torture.
I'd rather see the world go to shit now than let everything get sucked completely dry before the END.

Government didn't get smaller under the Republicans; it just lost its stature.
