Thanks for responding.  You've definitely made it easier to digest, and I what I'm thinking is that the rest of your post is so effective in large part because it's presented as talking points.  But with this addendum you switch to a mini-essay on tactical theory...

My suggestion -- and this only a suggestion; I'm going to leave your piece alone after this, I promise =)  -- would be to craft it as a simple, actionable example like the others:

It's useful to state your opponents' best argument for them up front, then dismantle it.

Point out that when the Clintons and their surrogates argue for the popular vote, they appear at first glance to be making a simple, moral, populist argument, that all votes are equal.  Right?  That's the implication, and why it rolls off their tongues so easily.

Then hit them with the simple, undeniable, logical argument, that shows their "best argument" as the sham it is.

Make the Clinton surrogate commit to the position that Minnesota = 1/4 of Missouri, because their argument insists that it should.  Ask them, "Are you ready to say here and now that  that Minnesota = 1/4 of Missouri?  Because that's what it means to say the popular vote matters more than delegate count!"

Make them argue that.  Put them in that position.  It'll expose this whole can of worms.

We hold these truths to be self-evident...
