  •  Yes, technically she (8+ / 0-)

reported it but she buried the 5 million loan in the back pages and did not include it in her total debt as is customary.

It is misleading at the very least as the media reported the wrong number of 10 million in debt vs the actual number of 15 million.

It was reported in such a manner as to deceive the public. What new?

    •  If by buried on the back page (0+ / 0-)

you mean buried on the front page, then you are correct.  It was in the overall summary, smack dab for everyone to see.  The overall summary is only like a quarter of a page long.  Again I am an Obama supporter, but I don't buy this journal.  This is a non-story; a misfiling that, because it was so transparent, I don't think was even done intentionally.

Here's the quote from the Boston Herald:

"An FEC representative tells us Clinton's debt to herself, even if she won't be paying it back, should be lumped in with the campaign's debts to others on the first page of the monthly filings, not just listed deeper within her disclosure forms -- that's how the other big self-funder in 2008, Mitt Romney, reported the $42 million he lent himself."

Actual, Hillary did the reverse of what is reported here.  She put it on the first page of her monthly filings, and not lumped in the back.  The report itself is not accurate.  It's up online take a look.

press reported the wrong figure for debt...was that not good for her?

These filings are gone over very carefully, and it sounds much better to have the press report 10 million rather than 15 million..

It is not the end of the world but if you think the Clinton camp was not trying to get the press to report the lower debt number..I think you are wrong..but who knows?
