  •  Developing countries certainly use commercial (0+ / 0-)

    fertilizers, despite what we may think of them.  Especially countries that have been touched by the international groups like World Bank and IMF.  Increasingly they produce cash crops, not locally eaten and varied crops.  Because of a focus on cash crops, they need and use commerical fertilizers just like the rest of the world.

    True, they may use less than "Developed" countries.  But huge amounts are still used, especially for their cash crops.  Many of these countries import food from places like America because it is cheaper (thanks to a healthy subsidy call the Farm Bill).
