Every American with a social security number of age ought to be automatically registered to vote.

Not everyone who has an SSN is eligible to vote, not everyone who is eligible to vote has an SSN.

Unfortunately, now some people will need to show ID. It won't be overturned soon, so we need to use it against those who would restrict voters.

My point is that now that the gov't can demand ID as a restriction, then we need a law whereby in order not to restrict or deny people their rights, it now needs make sure that all Americans are registered.

I picked social security numbers simply as one way that the gov't knows a person exists. Maybe we should go by tax records as well? The gov't certainly can cross reference in one way or another to know who is a citizen of age and then the gov't needs to provide the photo ID at no cost out of pocket to its citizens. The GOP will LOVE that idea too, won't they? Almost as much as every citizen already registered and ready to vote.

How many people don't vote simply because they don't want the hassle of registering? But if it's already done for them might get a hair up their butt and show up on the first Tuesday of November? 5% could throw everything off.

They want ID? Fine. Let's make it a nightmare for them.

You've got to be cou-ra-geous to play the odds that love will win. Whatever city you're in. Don & David Was / Was Not
