    Is the ability to overturn an election a good thing?

    Ask California.

    This is turning towards direct democracy but not even that, a direct democratic vote much smaller than the one that elected an official in the first place...being able to overturn the actual election.

    You support that?  In so doing, you'll need to support the principle across the board no matter who is pushing for the ouster of any progrssive leader in any state to stay consistent.  You'll need to support the ouster via a smaller electorate than ousts him/her too.  

    Are you willing to be consistent on your principle there across the board?  I sure hope not.

      before he gets recalled, it appears by US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. But I believe Illinois needs this law for those rare cases where it will be used. Citizens need to be empowered and this would be one method at their disposal. It should be made difficult, but not impossible to do.
