i mean, i understand that obama probably disagrees with wright on some points, but it had to be painful to be THAT rejecting of the guy.

i guess i'm with cornell west... i'll celebrate for one day when obama becomes president.  then i'll be on him to take his ideals further and further into actions.

disclaimer - i'm an obama supporter AND i happen to agree with 90% of what wright says, even some of the "outrageous" comments.  obama's over-rejection of wright's ideas is my only criticism of his otherwise great actions.

go far enough "left" or "right" and people are the same...

i understand the political reality of this, but he often stands on principle, this is just the one time he didn't.  i don't begrudge him much, just a bit, but he didn't HAVE to reject/renounce quite so much.  as someone says below, isn't disagreeing enough?

also, i doubt obama REALLY disagrees with classifying our foreign policy as terrorism in some cases as he indicated... if so, i disagree with him on that, too AND he needs to read some history.  i have family from nicuragua, and i feel for the people of colombia, afghanistan and elsewhere where we have sponsored terrorism.

AGAIN, i love the man... love him, and think he's with it.  he just doesn't show all his cards.  someday he may, and i'll love him even more.

He said he was 'shocked and saddened' by Wright's statements.

          Not the same thing.

Though I agree with much of what Wright says, It oes shock and sadden me to hear them said.
