    If the conservatives' argument was about how the stats were presented, you'd have a point.

    I think your point is more a side-step of the debate than something that adds to it.

    BTW, I just added some stuff to the post you probably missed the first time.

      and a "war on science" are completely different charges. Imprisoning Gallileo because he thought the sun was the center of the universe is a war on science. There is no science in data/statistics of teenage sexual behavior. There is probably some sociology, anthropology, and psychology, but no biology or chemistry to have a war on.

        are all sciences or science-based, no matter what your definition is.

        Collecting data of human behavior is always science. That's how people learn about parenting, criminology, and all sorts of public policy. I'm afraid you're just distorting things here.

        Science is about empirical results. It's not about believing whatever you want. Adopting views that ignore data is not science. You have to account for data in order for any of your views regarding the data to be science.
