  •  It was PAC money (0+ / 0-)

and a heavily split race between Gilchrest, Pipkin and Harris.

A real pity, the las tthing the NRCC needed was an in district fight over
    an incumbent.

The problem the GOP has is they ahve killed off so many moderates, that
they have no base to reach across the aisle on.

Jones in NC was lucky in that he didn't have major PAC
    money after him

    •  Except for the war, Jones is a true wingnut (0+ / 0-)

Business PACs had no reason to target him.

    •  Harris is damaged goods in half the district (1+ / 0-)

I won't get into the whole Eastern Shore/western shore thing, but this could be a sleeper pick up for the Dems.

Frank Kratovil's not perfect, and I really wish he'd tone down the "illegal alien" bashing, but he's a lot better than the thought of Harris getting sworn in. That man would pave the Bay if he thought he'd get another $5,000 in donations for it.

Has everyone forgotten McCain was one of the Keating Five?
