Obama hasn't done well with working-class, older, lower-income whites: the old-line "classic" Democrats.

    •  This "crap" is a valid concern (0+ / 0-)

I'm sorry reality offends you. Unfortunately, reality doesn't go away by sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming "shut up!!"

      •  When have Dems ever won that (0+ / 0-)

Can you back up this gem?

working-class, older, lower-income whites: the old-line "classic" Democrats.

Gore, Kerry and Clinton lost this demographic. You'd have to go a long way back before such people were Dems, I believe.

So, unless you have data to back it up ...

is the voter equivalent of a DINO. It appears that certain groups keep their party registration their whole lives, even if they don't vote with that party for decades.

        •  So who were all these Clinton primary voters? (0+ / 0-)

in places like PA? Were they voting in the D Primary just for something to do?

And since Gore, Kerry and (Bill) Clinton lost them, is it not at least possible that they could support McCain?  Are you writing them off? Are they not needed to win the GE?

This is not meant to be hostile. I know what you mean - a lot of these folks were the Reagan Democrats. I'm concerned that they could make a difference in some states.  There are still a lot of them.
