The sub-titles of my first two puzzle threads here -- "Send in the Subs" and "I'm B-a-c-k!" -- were intended simply as humorous comments on the fact I was filling in.  But occasionally it's fun to use titles to provide a hint, and that is the case this week.

    Actually, it's a double hint.

The sub-title is mainly intended as a mildly humorous reference to the vertical column answers.  (It's not a particularly useful hint; once you've filled in enough of the vertical letters you'll be able to figure out the words easily without the slight hint it provides. So I wouldn't bother thinking about it if I were you.  But once you've solved the puzzle, it will make sense and you may get a smile out of it.)

But it occurred to me when writing the introduction to the diary that the subtitle also served as a good hint at the answer to an important question I assumed you'd have.  Using the subtitle saved me having to answer the question directly in the introduction.  I tend to go on a bit too long in the intros, so being able to cut a paragraph out seemed in everyone's best interest.

Regarding  the question "Would I lie to you?", I hope the answer to that is obvious.  It is No.

Oh, sure, I may try to deceive you. I'll do my best to mislead you. But if I directly tell you something, you should be able to rely on that being truthful.

Especially since, not being able to write invisible text, I left the last paragraph off.

I chose to end that post with the following:

Oh, sure, I may try to deceive you. I'll do my best to mislead you. But if I directly tell you something, you should be able to rely on that being truthful.

      What I omitted:

[invisible (I wish)] ... So it might be a good idea to pay close attention to what I didn't say.  [/invisible]
