is a remarkable development in our planet. It is hard to explain, from the point of a purely materialist, reductionist, science how that could happen. What kind of meaning do we make of that? Reductionist science doesn't deal with the meaning of this capacity. It seems that we are left to determine the meaning of the obvious fact that life is aware of its self in some significant way, in the form of human beings. I think this is also true of other creatures who don't possess science and technology. What meaning will we make of this?

Love = Awareness of mutually beneficial exchange across semi-permeable boundaries. Political and economic systems either amplify or inhibit Love.

has been so badly distorted by reductionist science and religion.  Why were we so easily led down this path?  I'm out of my element now.

..."there", currently traversing that dangerous twilight of partial information, where we know too much for our own (and the planet's) good, but not enough to responsibly exercise our abilities nor enough to see what needs to be done?

and work like crazy!  That's all anyone can do.  It is clear that the receptiveness to the new ideas is changing for the better.  I also believe that the attitude change is vital.  Without it anything we do is more of the same.  I don't believe a technical "fix" is possible.  I also believe we need to prepare for some hard times.
