    and I like Sebilius.

Her success in Kansas winning over Republicans and Independents is well-known.

I've heard the arguments for a foreign relations expert in the VP role, but I think, Obama is going to bring other big names to the SoS and his cabinet.

Sebilius brings Kansas and potentially several border states into a blue column.

I don't understand why so many people are focusing on that. Obama easily beats McCain on foreign relations expertise.

McCain's knowledge is limited to military affairs. Obama is the one on the Foreign Relations Committee and who is experienced in broader foreign policy areas like  diplomacy, non-proliferation and democracy promotion.

And of course the big foreign policy issues this election are Iraq and Iran, where Obama cleans McCain's clock. Why would we want to add anyone to the ticket who is going to take the focus off of Obama on those issues? He's been the most effective Democrat out there on those issues since day one of the war-save possibly Al Gore.

Where Obama really needs some shoring up is on economic policy, to strengthen his support both with blue collar voters concerned about economic issues, and with the Krugman type left leaning intellectuals and policy wonks.

A Governor with a strong domestic policy record would be ideal.
