    except Lyndon Johnson. I was 14 in 1964. To me, he was the civil rights president. We had a mock election at my school and I was very pleased we won, because we were in suburban Atlanta and the rest of the state went the other way.

    He lost me over Vietnam in the 2nd half of 1967. He could have been a second Franklin D. Roosevelt, but he retired from politics in disgrace. He was a tragic figure.
