    The anonymity is positive in the sense that it can remove a good deal of the visual associations we have with our conversation partners, but it also has some drawbacks in that it doesn't allow for real accountability. That's where I find the "vote to promote" feature fascinating.

    I also think that the organic qualities of these comments threads are unique in that an autorefresh will allow you to visually record the evolution of dialogue and multiple communications. It's like being in a bar and seeing cartoon balloons over every person's head.

      Love the cartoon balloon analogy, but don't over analyze. It is what it is.
