  •  Public transit here in St. Louis (0+ / 0-)

    is pretty much non-existent. Sure, you have the Metrolink in the city which goes to a few places, but if you live out in the county like me? Car is the only option. Even the nearest bus stop would be a few miles.

    •  Being carless is generally an option only in (0+ / 0-)

      cities. That's a problem wrought by suburbanization.

      Pretty much every city (except New York City, those which have expanded to take in entire counties [like Indianapolis], and those in the sunbelt has a lower population today than it did at some point in the period 1930-1970
