I have a question about this poll. I heard several other pollsters analysis of the Miss. race and Im wondering if this poll takes into consideration the huge and probably record turnout of black voters that an Obama candidacy will attract for president in Mississippi, thus heavily weighting Musgrove's chance of blowing out Wicker. It's fair to assume that if the large black turnout goes for Obama, and they will, they will also push Musgrove over the top. It's a real good year to be a democrat!

Musgrove has a chance of winning a 50%+1 victory, especially if African American turnout is high.

      •  AA turnout: statewide vs. MS-01 (0+ / 0-)

If I'm not mistaken, the MS-01 district just won by Dem. Travis Childers is the whitest district in Mississippi. This means black turnout should be higher statewide -- a boost to Musgrove. And, of course, Obama was not on the ballot in the MS-01 special election, which further depressed black turnout compared to this November.

AND Musgrove as former governor has demonstrated he can win statewide, and has name recognition -- compared to Childers, who was largely unknown at the start of his race.

        Musgrove's chances are lookin' good.
