perceptions at this point.  Obama controls the facts, and she controls the perceptions.

Until Obama gets control over the latter, we're gonna keep playing this game.

    •  It's about the GOP/Media Complex (5+ / 0-)

They wanted her to win the nomination because they know she'd go down hard against McCain in the general.

They also wanted a long drawn-out campaign for the Dems that would build resentments.  (Notice how they didn't try to pretend that Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee were viable candidates?  Instead, they pushed them off the stage almost immediately.  Yet even though Hillary's been self-funding more than Mitt had a chance to do, the media pretends she still has a chance.)

    •  It seems she has controlled the media narrative (2+ / 0-)

ever since the debate when she mocked the media for fluffing Obama's pillows (SNL skit.)

At that point it became an accepted meme that the media was fawning over Obama and harsh on Clinton. The media have been bending over backwards to disprove any Obama bias ever since--at the expense of good editorial judgement and accurate analysis.

So it's hard for Obama to get the facts covered objectively.  The few commentators who do are immediately attacked as Obama worshipers. Most are gun-shy to try.

Some people fight fire with fire. Professionals use water.
