To that end, Edwards is a good choice as recent polling suggests he makes a huge difference in swing states such as Ohio and PA. Not sure why that is, but that is what SUSA polling is telling us.

Name recognition.  That's why the SUSA polling is rather worthless.

    Prediction: Obama/Sebelius defeats McCain/Pawlenty, 335-203.

    •  Is that why Edwards beats Rendall in PA? (3+ / 0-)

Too bad folks in PA don't know who their own governor is.

He does boost the ticket in every match up except against McCain/Huckabee--just not as much as Edwards because Rendell isn't that popular here (at least not anymore--he took some serious hits with the black community over his support for Clinton).

may be very helpful for Obama, who is relatively new and different....

      But name ID obviously changes....

I'm just saying don't read into the SUSA too much.

      •  11% of Americans think Obama is Muslim (2+ / 0-)

After 18 months of screaming from the rooftops that he's a Christian, only 58% of Americans think he is one and 11% think he's Muslim.

It's very very hard to reach low information voters and it will be an uphill battle and a huge waste of time/resources to "introduce" an unknown to the American people.

Name recognition is nothing to sneeze at. It's a huge plus.
