The notion that Obama would reject Kathleen Sebelius

However, Sebelius' placement on the ticket would remind everyone, constantly, without saying a word, that Obama's mom was a white woman from Kansas (when I think back on some of the passages of Dreams From My Father, I wonder if this may ironically be a reason that actually causes Obama to reject this option).

Because she is a white woman is catering to the worst of racist bias, and contributes to a ( hopefully untrue) perception that Sen. Obama is a sexist, i.e. the "sweetie" flap.

    •  Not that she is a white woman (0+ / 0-)

But that she is so much like his mother, and that when he was younger, he began to stop bringing up his mother's heritage as much when meeting people so as not to feel like he was using that to endear himself to people that might otherwise reject him.

I sound terribly inarticulate describing all of this compared to Obama's telling; you'd have to read Dreams From My Father to understand.

Do we really want another YEAR of trying to explain to everyone why the Democratic nominee voted to authorize the Iraq war before they were against it?
