  •  Do we really want a President without empathy? (4+ / 0-)

    You would think that after his own personal experiences, McCain would be the foremost advocate for veteran's rights and benefits.

    Sadly for McCain (but good for the country), he will now have an additional dose of criticism of his policies from the Libertarian candidate Bob Barr.

    •  Empathy Means You Have a Soul (0+ / 0-)

      McCentury sold his soul to GWB's "peeps" for a chance to be President.

    •  He voted for torture (0+ / 0-)
      What else is there to say?  That's carrying "no empathy" to pretty gross extremes. Frankly, I don't understand how someone who was subjected to torture and denounced his own country as a result can believe this is any way to treat others or that it is of any value. This is the question I would like some daring interviewer to put to McCain, preferably during a debate;

      "Given that when you were tortured by the North Vietnamese, you denounced your own country yet we don't question your patriotism, why do you think that anything obtained under torture is reliable or useful?"

      We're retiring Steve LaTourette (R-Family Values for You But Not for Me) and sending Judge Bill O'Neill to Congress from Ohio-14:
