    the problem is that the people who created the department of Homeland Security don't believe in a department of anything, except war, I guess.

    As I said before, the whole "drown the government in the bathtub" attitude will kill us all.

    An eye for an eye and the whole world will be blind.

      I've consulted for DHS and have some basic knowledge of the field, and I can tell you that the organization has a long way to go. A good book to read is "Open Target" by Clark Kent Ervin.

      Ervin was the first IG to work at DHS. Eventually Bush et al forced him out, but his book is damning. What he tells about DHS and its inefficiencies is telling.
