  •  More about the media coverage. (0+ / 0-)

Isn't it WONDERFUL to be at an event and then read media coverage that seems to be from a totally different event? Thanks for the diary.

The media story about Dems will always be the equivalent of rum, Romanism, and rebellion.......rabble who risk bring the country down into wrack and ruin.

HOWEVER, what about the media itself? Stenographers to Power? In "Lock-step"?

    The Media
When distant and unfamiliar and complex things are communicated to great masses
of people, the truth suffers a considerable and often a radical distortion. The complex is made over into the simple, the hypothetical into the dogmatic, and the relative into an absolute.
Walter Lippmann (1889-1974), U.S. journalist. The Public Philosophy, ch. 2, sct. 3 (1955).

The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western World. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity-much less dissent.
Gore Vidal (b. 1925), U.S. novelist, critic. A View from the Diner's Club, "Cue the Green God, Ted" (1991).
