        Ah, you're saying the country is devoid of intellectuals, and the country "who are" (?) content in slop.

        I thought you were saying we were "devoid of intellectuals who are content."  Which isn't true, we have plenty of intellectuals who are content in slop; that would describe most of your think-tank types.
