  •  Aha (5+ / 0-)

I think they did say that home grown tomatoes as well as the vine-ripened tomatoes carried in the store are okay to use.  At least I think I saw that in a news report somewhere.  But I went to my favorite place to get one of those ridiculously overpriced salads-the ones where the root greens are $3.50 out the gate, and everything you add is more, so you end up with a $10 salad for goodness' sakes, and no tomatoes.  This is summer, and it is not reasonable to expect us to go without tomatoes during the summer.  I'm upset.

    •  Yes, you are correct (4+ / 0-)

The best store bought tomatoes I ever had were from Trader Joes in the dead of winter.  Tasted like beefstakes (although, I'm probably lucky I wasn't poisoned).

Forgot to thank you for the great recipe -- I'm adding it to my file.  Thank you.

I grew up with an apricot tree; modern 'cots don't even compare. :::Sigh:::

and a pretty good size branch is hanging over my side of the 6'+ fence! Very soon...!

Impeachment...if it's still off the table, can we at least kick it around the floor a bit? AnnieJo
