then why do we allow the oil companies to make so much profits, raise the prices at the same time and then let their speakers-in-chief, Bush/McCain,  get to call for the lifting the bans of ocean drilling on our coasts with a 67% positive ratings by the public because they say it will give us cheaper gas.
    People want cheaper gas.

People love lies... politicians who tell the truth are not very well liked.  We want our idealogy no matter what and if we have a good excuse to vote for someone (a lie) and keep our ideology then we'll do it.  People want politicians to feed them lies.  The don't want the truth.

Hillary came close to closing Obama down with her lies even though she was despised by most people.

If Obama could some how say to us that being ecologically sound will make money then we would love it even if he lied.

It's not the statements that count, it is the lies we need from politicians that count in this media driven politics.   Hillary did it great...she had no right to even be close to the nomination.  I am nervous about Obama, who is improving at lying, but still has problems with his lies.

Obama should tell folks that he will bring gas prices down 50% in his administration.  Who cares if it is the truth or not?

Hillary came close to closing Obama down with her lies even though she was despised by most people.

Ask yourself this: If she was despised by most people, why would she come close to closing him down?

      And..

      People love lies

If this was the case, why is the current president so low in the polls?  after all, this was the administration of lies...

those questions and the reason she came close to knocking him down wasn't because she was liked...two reasons... one, she convinced older women with her lies that she cared about women's issues and would be be feminist president...lie one... and then she lied and said that McCain was better fit to be President than Obama... another big lie that her people really liked.

Reason Obama withstood her lies... is she waited until it was too far gone to start taking Obama seriously then and she hadn't counted the delegates right... She just thought she would just win on name recognition on Feb 5th and her guy, Penn, like an idiot, still thought it was winner take all... her bad people didn't help... but I said her lies almost brought Obama down.

McCain lies.  His people expect him to lie so they can vote for him.  Bush lied... then it blew up in his face, Weapons of Mass Destruction, so he lied some more and got reelected... don't tell me lies don't work for polilticians, especially republicans. George Bush would not be President if he hadn't lied.

I bet that most of the Democrats who voted to protect the Telecoms are lying like the dickens for their vote.

    •  No... (0+ / 0-)

...Typically, Americans require Republicans to lie while concurrently demanding Democrats always tell the truth.

If not the typical American, then certainly the establishment media.

If Obama tells a big lie, CNN, MSNBC & the Noise has a 2 hour special on it.

But if McCain lies, it's hail-fellow-well-met time.
