wish he would run it in Oklahoma to help Rice defeat Inhofe.  Maybe he will later.

Now here's some more good Obama news.  We're visiting my mom and step-dad who both voted for bush twice and watch faux news 24/7.  My mom has expressed tentative interest in Obama in the past month.  I've shown her the More Perfect Union speech and talked a bit about him.

This morning, something about KBR was on TV, and gas prices and I said "man, he's (Bush) mad a frickin mess of things.  SURPRISE!!  She agreed, said it's the worst she's ever seen (she's 77).  I went a bit further, testing the ground, and told her about his low approval ratings and that some historians feel he'll be the worst president ever.  She nodded and said "worse than Nixon".  Then she said she's voting for Obama.

This is HUGE for me personally as we didn't talk for 4 days after the 2004 election; I was so mad at her and everyone else who voted for the dumbass.   And if this little anecdote any indication of the mood out there, we are looking good for November.

and talking a teensy bit of politics for the first time since 2004.  She's a lovable person and very tolerant and fairly open-minded.  But damn, watching faux news rots your brain cells.

We put on MSNBC when here!

did not speak for 3 months after the 2004 General Election. She called me the day after the election to tell me that she knew that I was disappointed but that I had to respect the people's choice and Mr. Bush as President.

It was the wrong time to call, I did not react well and said some things I regret, including commenting on her intelligence for falling for the Bush propaganda.

We got past it and I'm working on her again for 2008. Probably hopeless, but hope springs eternal.

As I sail against the tide, for what I believe is right.
