John McCain has a 200-pound ball and chain on his leg that is George W. Bush.  The voters are ready for change, and they do not see John McCain as that agent of change.

Which brings us to Bay Buchanan's assertion that there really is only one candidate in this race -- Barack Obama, who the public sees as an agent of change.  The question is whether Barack Obama can convince the public to feel comfortable -- both from a terrorist attack and culturally -- with his kind of change.  There are many voters -- particularly men -- who do not agree with his values, his lifestyle, etc.  If he can convince some of his skeptics that his kind of change is safe, then he will win comfortably.
