I mean, what bothers me is the notion that journalists believe, or some journalists believe, that they can have their cake and eat it too, that you can have all of the special privileges, access and extraordinary freedom that you have because you are a journalist operating in a society which protects journalism to a greater degree than any other country in the world, and at the same time you can be a policy advocate.

I wonder if he will get anything other than a sternly worded letter for violating the ethics policies of the WashPo? I doubt it.

What we call god is merely a living creature with superior technology and understanding. If their fragile egos demand prayer, they lose that superiority.

When he gets the sternly-worded letter, he will shake his head from side to side.

"Kids these days," he will opine.  Then he will have another slice of toast.  He can't figure out how to work the toaster, himself.  Thats what help is for.

He will mutter about the fact that coffee isn't as good as it used to be.  He used to have orange juice, but now it irritates his bowels.

The ultimate catastrophe:  last year he spilled his Ensure on the rolodex.  Now, he's just making it up as he goes along.
