      Aren't you?  How is it exactly that parody is in a different category?  A different category than what?  and who decides?  Especially when the parody is subtle?  And what SCOTUS decision are you even talking about?

      It is true that Fair Use covers a bit of what is up with parody.  But every year - the right to parody is whittled away - as people become more and more anxious about breaking copyright law.  Some of this has to do with the fact that Fair Use has been redifined - but Fair Use wouldn't even be an issue if things became public domain sooner.
