      Trader Joe's doesn't make money off Charles Shaw wines directly. Even at volume, a retail price of $2 is barely squeaking you by glass, label, bulk wine, etc. You'd cry if you saw ship estimates, even for a container load at a time, from northern california to new england.

      That they can charge only $4 on the east coast is stunning to me. At some point they will be losing too much money to keep this up. Another example of total costs in the environment and fossil fuels not fully taken into account yet.
