  •  Nice to know it's not just the wacky (13+ / 0-)

bloggers making a stink about the Constitution.  Thanks for posting these.

Truthfully, I do wonder sometimes if it is only TPM, Countdown and DK that actually care about this stuff.

You would think the press would be sensitive to issues of privacy and unitary powers.  But the print pages seem to be the only ones saying "now wait just a minute".

I watched Feinstein on Cspan today and wanted to puke.  She is saying that the NEW and IMPROVED FISA will stop abuse, while excusing the total disregard of the first abuse.

If it were properly dramatized to be as chilling as it is.  That those little conversations you have in the middle of the night with someone where you talk about deeply personal things...being listened in on with no probable cause standard by the government, which can either be enjoying violating your privacy behind a curtain for thrills, or willfully interpreting the meanings of your communications to suggest you are a "person of interest."

It means that everyone should wonder why everything everywhere on a billboard wants you to be on the cell phone.  Wonder what their chances are of being randomly harassed by the government given the right (or wrong?) set of circumstances supported by information they didn't even know the government had been collecting on them.

I think the Democrats should be out there pounding obnoxiously into voters' heads that the Republican government is turning cell phones into something dangerous...tracking devices with prurient motivations...and it's freaking scary.
