He spins a wonderful fantasy that things are the way he says they are and that he is the central character to the discussion.

    No thanks.

I'm all for enticing more values voters to our side. But Wallis denies the real differences in thinking. The issue is "faith-based" thinking versus "reality-based" thinking. A very large number of anti-choice voters live in a fantasy world consisting of happy pink cherubs nestled in warm, fuzzy blankets in a world populated by Ozzie and Harriet and Father Knows Best. They believe that they can eat their cake and have it, too--that they can inflict abstinence-only sex education and that THEIR children won't have sex. But if one of the little angels has an "accident" (and depending on whether their child is the mother or the father, it's always the other kid that's at fault), well, they'll have to "take care of it" but it's not actually like one of those "sluts" (i.e., the child of someone "not like them") who murders their baby.

I'm all for using honey rather than vinegar to try and attract values voters, but I don't need a Johnny-come-lately like Wallis to tell me that Democrats need to get their act together when we have been the party of safe, legal, and RARE and the Republicans have been the party engaged in a holy war.

Well Dayum! The Fat Lady just sang her tits right off!
