Abortion shouldn't be a political issue at all. I am f*cking tired of politicians getting their grimy little hands on a MEDICAL PROCEDURE! Where is the "reduce vascectomies" plank on the party platform? Let's do a "no more boob jobs" rally. Abortion is one medical procedure among many and it's nobody's business but the person who's getting it.

So, no, I don't support such a platform. I don't think it should be a political issue how many medical procedures are performed in this country. A platform plank that encouraged policies that make all our citizens able to choose when and whether to have children, that I could get behind.

    •  But it already is, has been for decades. (0+ / 0-)

The "choice" plank was added in '80 IIRC, and Reagan bludgeoned us, even though GHW Bush was nicknamed "Rubbers" in Congress for his Planned Parenthood position.

And it's been there ever since.

You are right, it shouldn't be.  But it is.
