    Pops,

    You wrote...
Combined with their refusal to disavow the abhorrent ads run by their former campaign operatives linking Dean to bin Laden -- the Willie Horton/Dukakis ads pale by comparison -- they have shown themselves to be the worst kind of opportunistic gutter filth.

To quote a great American philosopher, John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious!"

Did you forget that on his deathbed, Lee Atwater -- the instigator of the blatantly racist Willie Horton television ad in 1988, even though it was run by the National Conservative Political Action Committee -- publicly apologized to Michael Dukakis for his disgraceful tactics? As I recall, Atwater characterized his own behavior and involvement as "repugnant and despicable." You don't expect Kerry, Lieberman, or Gephardt to do the same, do you? To equate them with Saddam would be laughable were it not so silly.

By all means, support your candidate (be it Dean, Clark, Gephardt, or one of the others). But, as a gentle suggestion, do refrain, if at all possible, from excessively emotional and irrational political rhetoric.

    Thanks.
