    What you were inside the head of all these Perot voters?  Your point is pure speculation.  The only objective fact is that Clinton never got over 50% of the vote.

      meaning of its significance first, other than "he didn't get a majority." Of course he didn't get one when its a 3 way race, especially considering the 3rd party candidate had the net worth of many small countries. The fact is, he got the most votes, by over a 5 million vote margin in 1992, and an 8 million vote margin in 1996. Getting the most votes is something Kerry, Dukakis, Mondale, McGovern, Carter '80, Hubert Humphrey, and Adlai Stevenson didn't do. If you really like spin, then I can say how in 1992, he got more votes than any Democrat in history before him, even Lyndon Johnson, and did the same in 1996. Also, I'd trust the exit polls to give a decent snapshot. After all, people and commentators use the stats of women voters, men voters, black voters, latino voters, so why not Perot voters of their preference in a two way race?
