    ...a long time ago.

Two Jewish female senators, one a liberal, one a complete sell-out. Not that I can discern a reason for that, of course.  It should have been apparent when she opposed a domestic partnership ordinace as mayor.  She will never be willing to step out and support liberal causes.

Primary her.  That's the best you can do. And btw, calling her a "bitch" is extremely counterproductive.  Just oppose her for her policies.  That's enough.  She's a disgrace.

The problem with all these princes and princesses is that they rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions and blow away any challengers by the sheer size of their warchests. Then they band together and WON'T SUPPORT anyone who runs against one of their own. We saw that 2 years ago with the pro-peace candidacy of Marcy Winograd against Jane Harman. NO ONE in the entire peace caucus in the House would break with this "tradition."

CLEAN MONEY is one answer to this problem. But when we will be get it is anyone's guess. And we're losing the fragments of what is left of the democracy very fast now.

obviously that's a huge part of it; as Marcy's husband, I saw this up close.   We're relatively certain that at least some of the more progressive Congressional (and other SoCal office-holding) incumbents had to be more sympathetic to Marcy's vision and positions than Harman's, but in addition to Harman's huge war chest, there is also the revenge factor.   People fully expected Harman to be vindictive in the (relatively likely) case that she prevailed.  If Harman won the primary and the Dems went on to take a House majority (as did happen), then Harman could have been a powerful player in getting and assigning and denying perks of office.  And outside of Congress, any LA officeholder who supported Marcy and needed a federal favor?   Fuhgeddaboudit.    Didn't have to actually hear these reasons out loud to know they played a role. . .

"extremely counterproductive". What difference does that make? There's Dem neoCons of all faiths and types, and she is one.
