    if they were around during the VN draft. The word was the typists ended up a file clerk or typist in Fort Dix NJ for the duration while nontypists ended up as riflemen in the Mekong Delta or the Highlands.

    •  Both my husband and I learned typing (0+ / 0-)

      in high school, but our grandchildren learned in second and third grade. Learning to type was one of the best things we grandparents learned -- many, many papers to write in college and graduate school. The grandchildren wrote emails to us starting at seven years old.

      Wonderful progression! I'm all for learning to type.
