  •  Childish... I've heard that insult here too often (6+ / 0-)

Yeah, that's pretty much the response from the Obama Cultists. Yeah, I'm going there. I've had it. I didn't want to think it existed despite the fury from the Clinton supporters who were driven away, but some posters on dailykos are either paid shills for Obama or are brainwashed fanatics who put Obama above everything and everyone else, including the Constitution.

They call us childish. They call us defeatists. They call us practically every name in the book because ultimately, that's all they have. They can't defend Obama's weakness on this one issue, so they attack those who point out Obama's weakness (Good ol' Republican-style politickin') to try to shut us up. Even as we all point out we're still going to vote for Obama, we get the bullshit accusation of throwing the presidency to McCain.

Whatever happened to hope? All I'm sensing from the Obama apologists is fear.

But don't forget that most men without property would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich, than face the reality of being poor. (1776)

    •  I applaud your bravery (5+ / 0-)

I'm one who was very nearly driven away during the primaries and mostly stayed out of candidate diaries.

No one is above criticism. Not even the Pope. Certainly not a political candidate, and not Obama.

Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm just jaded, but I'm not feeling the least bit hopeful about this election. Not about whether Obama will get elected, because I think there's a good shot that will happen (it's not foregone) but whether if we do have a Democratic sweep, it will bring any sort of real, meaningful change.

Color me cynical, but on the other hand, show me some evidence that things will change.

The one big difference I could see would be the Supreme Court, and that's critical.

I'll vote for Obama; I agree with Markos, though, I won't give him money if he doesn't represent me. And as for working for him? It depends on whom I would have to work alongside.
