    who did everthing for political considerations, perhaps it's hard to imagine someone deciding based on policy considerations, but I think that's what we have here.

    When you look at the long post Obama wrote here many years ago, you begin to sense his political philosophy. The FISA vote is not out of character.

    The telecom companies are small potatotes. They were bullied into breaking the law by the real bad actors of the Bush administration. Obama could easily spend all eight years of two successive administrations prosecuting all the lawbreakers of the Bush years, yet that would leave little time for repairing all the broken machinery of goverment.

    If you are looking for a vengeful administration, you'll be disappointed in Obama.

      make it more likely in the future.
      There is nothing "vengeful" in seeing that flagrant lawbreaking has consequences.

      If Obama is in to "forgive and forget" to the extent he is too busy to show that criminal activity in high office has consequences he fails in his oath. Under those circumstances he would not be likely to get my vote in 2012.
