a frustrating environment for photography, though not for the reasons you mention.

It is apparently a fine-able offense to take photographs on MBTA property without written permission ... some post-9/11 "security" bullshit.  Anyway, every time I try to take photos I get harassed by some puffed-up self-important asshole in a T uniform who probably doesn't even know how to fucking spell p-h-o-t-o-g-r-a-p-h.  Fucktards.

    •  But don't you feel safer? (4+ / 0-)

Even before the widespread advent of cell phone and other small digital cameras, it wasn't that difficult to take photographs in places the authorities didn't want you to be doing so.

Particularly considering that the first time I got harassed for taking pictures on T property, I was standing on a bus platform at sullivan square station, when a bus came barreling down the street and pinned me up against a concrete barrier so that the driver could scold me.  She apparently didn't want me to be able to get away before she finished yelling at me.  The fact that she came about 18 inches away from killing me didn't seem to matter to her, after all, I was breaking the rules, right?  I've never met a T driver that wasn't a moronic asshole.  Ever.
