"See, we DON'T hate bisexual married men."
"At least he TRIED to do the right thing and FOUGHT it."
"It's these flamers flaunting it in everybody's face who are the problem."

Seriously, I think (especially if we win the battle on the amendment in California) that the nation at large (*including* Dixie) is getting close to a tipping point where Republicans start to lose more votes for hating us than they gain for defending "family values" from us; as we say, "Hate is not a family value*.
Maybe more Republicans are actually noticing that.

Or maybe they're just stronger than we think; Larry Craig didn't resign either and some people still believe his denials.

They're absolutists. They don't do nuance. Even just renting a gay porn video, once, as a "martial aid" for procreative sex, would still be untenable hypocrisy.

There will always be some number of partisans who believe their outlandish claims of innocence. However, each Republican sex scanadal shrinks the number willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The sheer volume of scandals within the the Republican party and the Catholic Church -- and their leaders' disappointing loyalty to people instead of principle -- definitely contributed to my decision to leave them.

I also believe we must impeach Antonin Scalia for protection from his inhumanity.
