  •  No, no, Justice has declared the interrogations (0+ / 0-)

being used as not being torture!

Congress could just adopt the "guidelines" to be used by Deputy Sergeants at Arms down in some new facilities deep in the bowels of the Capitol! Ah, I can see it now:

Greetings! The subcommittee is holding hearings in room B6, the new press free and soundproof hearing room.

Sometimes such turnabout does have its attractions--even if we would (or at least should) be just as much opposed.

The only foes that threaten America are the enemies at home, and those are ignorance, superstition, and incompetence. [Elbert Hubbard]

I have these emotions that are not admirable, nor would I act on them.

I think of the several Grimm fairy tales in which the villain is asked what punishment would be suitable for the person the villian has been trying to set-up, and then that punishment is turned on the villain by a wise judge or the community.

(Rather horrible, since the actual penalty dreamed up by the villain usually involved some lurid form of death that I would not wish on anyone, but the principle was there -- do something horrible to others, or try to do it, and you are liable to treatment under the same standards yourself.)
